1. Introduction
Semakode ("we") values your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when using the Hokita application.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of data:
(a) Account information you provide when signing up, such as your name, email address, and phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account ID.
(b) Accommodation data you enter into the app, such as rooms, guests, reservations, and invoices.
(c) Device information collected automatically, including your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and a unique device identifier for push notifications.
(d) Usage data such as which screens you visit and how you interact with the app, collected to help us improve the experience.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to provide and improve the Hokita service, process subscription payments, send push notifications for important updates (such as new reservations or check-in reminders), detect and fix errors in the app, and provide technical support. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers with encryption. Your accommodation data is isolated per property so it cannot be accessed by other users. We perform regular backups to prevent data loss.
5. Third-Party Services
To operate Hokita, we use the following third-party services that may process some of your data:
(a) Supabase — our cloud database and authentication provider, which stores your account and accommodation data.
(b) Google Firebase — used for usage analytics (screen visits and app interactions) and push notifications. Firebase may collect device information and app usage data.
(c) Google AdMob — used to display ads in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and interaction data to show relevant ads. Ads are disabled for paid subscribers.
(d) Sentry — used for error reporting so we can detect and fix issues. Sentry receives error logs but we strip out personal information such as your email and IP address before sending.
(e) Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google's servers.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
6. Advertising
The free version of Hokita shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to display ads that are more relevant to you. No personal data such as your name or email is shared with advertisers. When you upgrade to a paid plan (Pro or Business), ads are completely turned off. You can also reset or disable your advertising ID through your device's privacy settings.
7. Data Security
We use encrypted connections for all data transfers, secure login systems, and role-based access so only authorized team members can see certain data. However, no system is 100% secure. We continuously work to improve our security measures.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, modify, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account from the Settings menu in the app. You may also export your data (available on Pro and Business plans). Contact us for any data-related requests.
9. Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses functional cookies to maintain your browsing session. The Hokita app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, such as which features are popular. This data is collected in a way that does not personally identify you. We use this information solely to improve the app experience.
10. Push Notifications
Hokita uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications to your device. To deliver notifications, we store a notification token linked to your device. You can turn off notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.
11. Data Retention
While your account is active, data is stored according to your subscription plan limits. If you delete your account, your data will no longer be accessible by you or other users. Invoice and payment records may be retained as required by tax regulations.
12. Children's Privacy
Hokita is designed for accommodation business professionals and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
